Our final Player to Watch, alphabetically, in the Class of 2026 is Shelby defensive end Tyson Williams.

He may be our last Player to Watch, but my goodness, you can’t miss him. He’s 6-foot-5, weighs 255 pounds, and he’s only a junior. His blend of size and speed on the football field is fun to watch. But as fast as he moves on the field, he needs to take some time occasionally to slow down. So, he gets his rod and reel and spends some time with a line in the water.
“It gives me time to breathe,” Williams said. “I leave my phone in the car. I don’t have to look at anything there. I just get to fish. I don’t have to worry about football, being recruited or anything like that.”
It’s his place of peace, and he needs it. Things are about to get pretty crazy, if they’re not already, for one of the hottest recruits in the country. So, he’ll savor every minute he has on the water.
“Need it pretty bad because we can get to a point where you’re ready to go, you’re ready to take that step,” Williams said.” At the same time, you really got to enjoy the moment you’re in.”
