One impacts immigrants who are here legally. If you have a Green Card, you’re pregnant, or you’re under 19, your Medicaid coverage should stay the same. But -- otherwise -- you may lose your eligibility on Oct. 1.
The other involves new work requirements. The changes are too complex to rattle off here, Stoogenke said. But a major one is you may have to re-verify your employment every six months.
“It’s really a stressful situation for everybody involved and, in that kind of environment, mistakes are going to be made,” said Douglas Sea, senior attorney with the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy.
