RALEIGH — A bill introduced Monday in the North Carolina General Assembly could give people something to cheer about.
State Rep. Jason Saine, R-Lincoln, is pushing for the state to legalize happy hour.
Happy hours are currently illegal in North Carolina.
House Bill 94 would allow bars and restaurants to get a permit for $100.
Establishments could offer discounts on drinks, and for multiple drinks to be sold for one price and provide cents-off coupons.
The bill will be discussed over the coming months.
