SOUTH CAROLINA — A new bill would have the state hire a private company to run the South Carolina Education Lottery.
That could mean more money for education.
Legislators said a private company could run the games more efficiently.
They said a profit motive would force them to run the games with lower administrative costs and find new ways to get more people to play.
