CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Area Transit System is beginning scheduled single-tracking operations and Rail Trail detours along the Blue Line in South End starting Monday.
All trains going south will share one track between New Bern and Bland stations. The Rail Trail on the northbound track will also be closed between the new pedestrian rail crossing and South End Cannon Pharmacy.
Officials say the adjustments, scheduled through early December, will support construction of a new light rail station in South End.
The single-tracking schedule runs through Friday before continuing again Nov. 9–13.
Transit officials advise passengers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Real-time updates and Rider’s Alerts are available through the CATS-Pass mobile app and the system’s website.
