CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the first time, Channel 9 is hearing from those who know a woman shot in the face almost two weeks ago at the NC Music Factory.
Darcy Quan, an innocent bystander, was one of five people shot Sept. 11 outside of the VBGB bar.
The 23-year-old is still at Carolinas Medical Center, but her status has been upgraded to good condition.
"She's just got one of those spirits that reaches out to you," said John Morris, the general manager of the Huntersville Brixx restaurant, where Quan has worked for more than seven years.
The Huntersville Brixx in Birkdale shopping center and two other nearby locations are holding a fundraiser Friday to help Quan until she returns to work.
"We knew right away that she was going to miss a considerable time of work," Morris said. "We felt like we had to do something, just like you would for any member of your family."
Three teenagers charged in connection with the shooting remain in the Mecklenburg County jail.

Chris Ardrey, Cario Davis and Jason Farmer face charges that include robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and more.
Davis and Farmer are both charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Ardrey and Davis will be back in court in the next few days. Farmer's next court date is in December.
To help Quan, Brixx locations at Birkdale in Huntersville, Dilworth and uptown are donating 10 percent of all sales Friday from both dine-in and takeout customers.
"She's just got one of those personalities that you want her to be around," Morris said.
