CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — According to Caldwell County officials, a man from Burke County was shot and killed at a homecoming party for students at Hibriten High School.
Deputies say it happened at an old wedding venue along Grandin Road east of Lenior Friday night.
Channel 9 doesn’t know how many students were at the party and if it was being chaperoned at the time.
Investigators say there were around 70-80 people at the party when the shooting happened.
The father of the victim told Channel 9’s Dave Faherty his son was 20-years-old.
