BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Burke Rescue is currently on scene at Shortoff Trail in Burke County for a high-angle rescue requiring an extended medical carry-out.
Operations are expected to continue throughout the day.
The rescue team is asking people to avoid the Shortoff Trail area if possible to allow rescue crews and emergency personnel to work safely and efficiently.
The N.C. Helicopter Aquatic Rescue team has been deployed to help assist.
