NEWTON, N.C. — Catawba Farms had added a high-tech “ice”-skating rink to its Newton property.
The Rink at Catawba Farms is the latest addition to that nearly $2.7 million agritourism project in Catawba County. The rink consists of 3,200 square feet of skating surface known as eco-ice. That surface, made by Swiss company Glice, allows for all-temperature, year-round skating.
The project cost $165,000.
She, along with friends and business partners Dennis Baucom and Michael Waltuch, is behind that venture.
