CATS looking for Charlotte artists to help design bus shelters

CHARLOTTE — Two local artists can help make some bus stops around the Charlotte area a little prettier.

The Charlotte Area Transit System is looking for two local and professional artists “to integrate art into future bus shelter glass.”

CATS said the two local artists will get to design art for the windscreen glass of the bus shelters, and those shelters will be distributed throughout the city over the next five years. The art should be “accessible and meaningful to the public,” CATS said in a statement sent Monday.

You can apply for the grant by clicking this link.

According to CATS, the two artists who are selected will split $15,000 for their efforts.
