CHARLOTTE — The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has once again cracked down on the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS).

The transportation department sent a letter to the embattled transit agency.

CATS said they are making changes in response to the findings.

It said during unannounced visits, it discovered CATS is out of compliance with its hours of service guidelines.

NCDOT says one CATS employee worked three days straight, and another worked more than 63 hours each week.
