'Cautiously optimistic’: Some restaurant owners face challenges getting back to normal

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lots of people were out Saturday night now that restaurants have reopened as part of Phase 2 -- plus it’s Memorial Day weekend.

Restaurants were able to open dining rooms. And breweries can open as well, but many said it’s not quite the same.

“Cautiously optimistic. I know I won’t do the type of numbers I normally do, but any amount of revenue is good to pay expenses,” said John Ellison, owner of Gin Mill.
