As of Tuesday, Charlotte has recorded 28 inches of rain so far this year. That leaves the city eight inches below normal rainfall levels for the second consecutive year.

Extended periods without significant rainfall increase fire concerns across the region on breezy days. These risks become particularly notable as relative humidity drops during the winter months.
