CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The flea market on Central Avenue in Charlotte may have to move in a few months.
More than 100 business owners and vendors serve the community at the market. But because construction will be starting soon for Charlotte’s new major league soccer team, the market and its vendors will have to move.

“The arena and all the planning they have is not a reflection of our community. Not to mention the loss of opportunity for small businesses,” said Theodore Williams, owner of the flea market. “The city is not really concerned about providing a place for small businesses and we know certain small businesses employ a lot of people.”
The flea market will stay on Central Avenue until Nov. 30. It’s unclear what will happen after that date.
