Charlotte woman plans to take trip to Paris after $150K lottery win

CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte woman is planning to take a dream vacation after winning $150,000 off a $5 scratch-off.

Amie Sears bought a Cashword Multiplier ticket from the Harris Teeter on Rea Road and won a $150,000 prize. She plans to go to Paris with the money.

“Since I was a little kid, I always wanted to go to Paris,” Sears said. “I think my mom instilled it in me.”

Sears said she used to read stories about big lottery winners and became inspired.

“I like playing those because it’s entertainment for me,” Sears said. “It takes time to scratch every little letter.”

Sears is taking home $106,876 after required state and federal tax withholdings.
