Child rescued from Union County pool after they were ‘in distress,’ deputies say

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A child was rescued from a pool Wednesday after they were “in distress,” according to Union County deputies.

Deputies, EMS and the Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the Marvin Creek community pool for the call. Deputies said a child was removed from the pool after they were “in distress.”

Deputies are still investigating the circumstances around the incident.

First responders provided medical care and the child was taken to the hospital, authorities said. Deputies said they were treated and released.

The child was at the pool with their family when the incident happened, according to deputies.
