Citations issued for drivers who leave vehicles running while unattended

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers will start issuing citations for drivers who leave their vehicles running while unattended in public places.

In the past, CMPD officers issued warnings and handed out flyers.

They’ve been trying to cut down on stolen cars and other crimes.
