City of Chester announces new police chief

CHESTER, S.C. — The city of Chester has appointed a new chief of police.

City officials announced on Friday that DuJuan Council had been appointed as chief of police.

“A new chapter of leadership, integrity, and community partnership begins now,” the city said in a Facebook post.

Douglas Moore had been serving as Interim Police Chief after Chief William Petty resigned in October.

Officials said they will be sharing more about Council soon.
