City Council to discuss Aqua plan, Monroe's retirement

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte City Council will meet to discuss a $2.5 million offer from Charlotte Water.

The agency wants to take over water and sewer operations in the Mint Hill area. The systems are currently owned by Aqua North Carolina.

The request comes after Mint Hill residents complained about the water quality from Aqua for years

Channel 9 investigated in 2013 and found murky water coming from faucets in homes in Ashe Plantation.
