CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a woman in a SouthPark Mall parking deck last week.
The victim, a 20-year-old woman, said that a man approached her from behind on Oct. 6 just before 7 p.m. and demanded money from her purse.
The woman said she gave him the cash that she had, and the suspect then ran away.

The management at SouthPark Mall released a statement on the incident:

SouthPark Mall management and security work proactively to ensure the safety of our shopping environment. We have a robust security program in place, which includes some visible components as well as others that must remain behind-the-scenes to protect the integrity of the programs. This includes a 24-hour active patrol of the center lots, use of CCTV, use of Segways and escorts to vehicles upon request."
