Arrest made after 15-year-old boy shot to death in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy Monday on Briarhill Drive off Milton Road in east Charlotte.

When officers got to the scene after 5 p.m., they discovered a vehicle that crashed in a woodline. It appeared the boy, identified as Roman Kichigin, was shot at an apartment complex and tried to drive to a hospital when he crashed.

MEDIC took Kichigin to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, CMPD said they had arrested and charged 18-year-old Clifton Stanfill with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police have not released any other details or motives in the case.
