CHARLOTTE — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested a woman in connection with an investigation into the death of a 1-year-old.
Police responded to the Studio and Suites 4 Less along Queen City Drive around 1:30 a.m.
There, they found 1-year-old Kamelah Doris Michilena who was not breathing. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased, CMPD said.

Channel 9’s Miana Massey spoke with an employee at the motel’s front desk, who said police will be reviewing surveillance video from the property.
A guest at the motel, who said she was close to the child’s family, said the death may be a possible overdose.
Police arrested 26-year-old Brionce Parks in connection with the child’s death. She had her first court appearance today.
Parks is being held under a $1 million bond.
No other information has been released. The case is active and ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the authorities.
