Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigators are looking through surveillance video of Charlotte's latest shooting.
A 14 and 16-year-old were shot at a Mobil gas station around 8 p.m. Tuesday near the Brookshire Freeway in west Charlotte.
He was firing at a red car with five teenagers inside. Two were hit, but are expected to be fine.
"It's frustrating," CMPD Chief Kerr Putney said. "When you're running from cops, and you have guns and you're shooting at each other, that's a recipe for disaster."
Channel 9 also asked about another teen crime last week.
A 15-year-old carjacked a woman at gunpoint and got into a police chase in Elizabeth, The teen also fired shots at a local business.
Putney said they're not seeing more crime committed by teens, just more egregious crimes.
"If we're not careful we're going to lose a generation of talent," Putney said.
Michael Jackson is just as worried but also optimistic.
"If we can change the way they think, I think we can change the way they act," Jackson said.
He heard the shooting Tuesday night and said it seems like more teens are getting involved in crime.
He said it boils down to opportunities.
"That’s the problem with our society right now: We're not producing children to have opportunities anymore. We're taking away their opportunity. That's what they need," said Jackson.
Police don’t have any suspects.
