CMPD: Man arrested in armed robbery of Italian restaurant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers arrested a man accused of tying up and robbing a restaurant manager, according to a news release.

Officers responded Nov. 25 to 6851 Northlake Mall Dr. after a call of an armed robbery at Bravo Cucina Italiana Restaurant.

Officers found the manager of the business, who said she was robbed at gun point, tied up and left in the restaurant. She said she was able to escape and call the police.

Detectives arrested Manuel Carranza, 30, and charged him with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.

Armed robbery detectives conducted an investigation.
