CHARLOTTE — CMPD says one of its officers was hurt in a crash early Saturday morning on I-85.
It happened on the northbound side near the exit to University City Boulevard just after 12:30 a.m.
While assisting North Carolina State Highway Patrol with traffic control, a CMPD car was hit by a motorist, injuring an officer.
The officer was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No word on how many others were injured.
I-85 northbound was shut down following the crash but is now back open.
