CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer who was shot in the line of duty last week has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
CMPD is not releasing the officer’s name out of respect for the officer’s privacy.
The officer was injured during an incident that led to the arrest of 24-year-old Dionte McCracking.
McCracking remains in jail without bond after a SWAT team arrested him following an hours-long standoff at a south Charlotte apartment complex last week.

He is charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of the officer. Authorities have also linked McCracking to hundreds of additional charges in separate shootings, thefts and other crimes.
