CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department caught two people driving a couch down South Tryon Street over the weekend.

The department shared a photo of the makeshift vehicle on social media — a couch balancing on two Lime scooters.

“While we appreciate the creativity, we do have to remind everyone: no matter what you’re “driving” (using that term extremely loosely 😅), please think about safety first," CMPD wrote on X.

Police say the shock of seeing such a vehicle on the road could cause drivers to lose focus and drive unsafely.
