CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 17-year-old is accused of firing a shotgun Wednesday in a south Charlotte apartment complex parking lot and slightly injuring several people.
Alex Greis was led out of his apartment on Via Romano Drive in handcuffs.
It’s not the first time Greis has been in trouble. According to jail records, police have arrested him more than a dozen times since he turned 16, which is less than two years ago. Some of the charges are felonies, including some around the apartment complex where he lives.
Police said Greis was with a group of other teenagers in the parking lot when a shotgun he was holding went off.
Police said it may have been accidental, but Gries still faces charges, including possibly discharging a firearm in the city limits of Charlotte.
Police said several people were hit by birdshot but no one was seriously hurt.
