CMS School Board says superintendent has until Monday to finish modified budget

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board says the superintendent has until Monday afternoon to finish a modified version of the budget for this upcoming school year.

The Charlotte Observer reports this comes a month after members did not approve Dr. Crystal Hill’s initial $2.1 billion recommendation.

State law requires the district to present a budget proposal to county commissioners by Friday.

The school board is expected to vote on the plan Tuesday.
