CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teacher assistant is accused of threatening to shoot employees at Uptown’s Metro School.

Police arrested Ashley Armstrong on Friday on a charge of communicating a threat of mass violence. She is being held in jail without bond.

CMS sent a letter to parents Friday night confirming Armstrong is no longer employed by the district.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority,” the district said in the letter.
