MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg School teacher has officially been charged in the death of a school crossing guard.

Troopers charged Sarah McMinn with misdemeanor death by vehicle Saturday.

They said she hit and killed Frank Booth earlier this month when he was helping kids cross a busy street.

Troopers said they charged her because she failed to slow down before hitting Booth.

McMinn is an assistant teacher at Vance High School.
