CHARLOTTE, N.C. — While the COVID-19 pandemic has battered many businesses and forced some to close, others have found opportunity. The proprietor of a coffee shop in Salisbury is in the latter group, having snagged a deal on space to expand to a mall in Charlotte.

The Salisbury Post reports on the recent opening of a Mean Mug coffee shop at Northlake Mall — the second location for the business. Owner Evelyn Medina told the newspaper she hadn’t planned to expand at this time but got an offer from the mall that she couldn’t refuse.
