MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Mecklenburg County commissioners agreed Tuesday night to a five-year deal with the city of Charlotte that will have Charlotte-Mecklenburg police patrol unincorporated areas.

It's a $14 million deal between Mecklenburg County and the city of Charlotte.
The deal will mean no tax hikes for Mecklenburg County residents.
