CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A Caldwell County community is coming together to help a family after a powerful storm destroyed its home Tuesday.
The family started moving into the home hours before strong winds blew it off its foundation.

"I'm finding bits and pieces all over the place but not really a whole lot," Mandi Williams said.

Charles and Mandi Williams, with their 4-month-old and 3-year-old children, heard the approaching storm while they were visiting the home and left.
The storm brought 70 mph straight-line winds, the National Weather Service said.
"Five minutes; it was gone," Charles Williams said, who showed reporter Ken Lemon the damage Wednesday.
Most if the items they lost are not covered by insurance, like toys.
The community immediately provided toys for their children.

"Some we don't even know. It's word of mouth," Mandi Williams said. "People sharing pictures and stuff -- knew two kids are missing toys and stuff."
People have also brought children's clothes and said they would bring furniture.
"It means the world," Mandi Williams said. "It really does. It means the world."
