Hamilton is the principal at Long Creek Elementary School in Huntersville.
Heavy fire was coming from Shannon Hamilton’s house by the time firefighters got there.
A heater ignited combustibles in the garage, and no one was hurt, investigators said.
The community put together a GoFundMe page for Hamilton to help her and her children rebound from the fire.
