Concord police asking public’s help to identity car involved in hit-and-run of cyclist

CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Police Department is asking the public for help in locating a driver involved in the hit-and-run of a cyclist in September.

Police said on Thursday, Sept. 29, a dark-colored SUV struck a cyclist. It happened at the intersection of Pitt School Road and Weddington Road in Concord.

The driver stopped the vehicle briefly and then fled the scene.

If you have information about the vehicle or the driver, you are asked to contact the Concord Police Department at 704-920-500.

The cyclist’s injuries were not life-threatening. They were able to described the vehicle as possibly an early model Ford Explorer.
