CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — Wilson Creek in Caldwell County will stay closed until spring of 2026.
Crews are still working to clean up the Wilson Ridge Trailhead and Wilson Creek Day Use Area along Brown Mountain Beach Road after it was badly damaged from Helene last year.
The Hickory Daily Record reported that the area won’t re-open until at least March 31, 2026.
Trespassers could pay up to $5,000 and face jail time.
