CORNELIUS, N.C. — Cornelius could be joining other towns trying to pull away from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system.

Town officials have been studying options for several months and met with frustrated parents Wednesday night.

In the video at the top of this webpage, reporter Tina Terry explains the future overcrowding at the schools and the possibility of starting a new district.

"My son has been in a trailer since the third grade," one parent said. "He's only experienced that, and it's a shame."
