Country music concert held in Charlotte first time since Vegas shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte hosted country music's Zac Brown Band Thursday night at the PNC Music Pavillion, the first outdoor music event in the area since the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

A security expert said the venue doesn't have the same kind of risks as Las Vegas because it's enclosed

and there are no high-rise buildings nearby.

Concert workers said the PNC Pavilion had no concerns of threats.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officials said a third party hires off-duty officer to work at events like the Zac Brown Band concert.

Routine security checks were also in place.

"I don't know how much more security (they) would need I mean if someone wants to do something like that,” concert-goer Mike Joyce said. “I don't know how you're going to stop it.”
