Victims identified in Clover crash that killed two, hurt six

CLOVER, S.C. — South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people were killed and six were hurt, including five children, in a crash that happened Saturday.

It took place just before 3 p.m. on North Paraham Road, south of WH Stowe Road in Clover.

According to the York County Coroner’s Office, 18-year-old Justin Meenaghan was the driver of a Ford Mustang that lost control, crossed the centerline, and struck 36-year-old Brooklyn Gilfillan’s Kia Sorento head on.

Both Meenaghan and Gilfillan were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other victims inside the Sorento were taken to the hospital.

Paraham between Highway 55 and 557 was closed for an extended period of time after the crash.

Around 8:15 p.m., the York County Sheriff’s Office said the road was reopened.
