Crash near Charlotte Douglas brings down traffic lights, power lines

CHARLOTTE — A crash near Charlotte Douglas International Airport is impacting drivers Friday.

It happened at the intersection of Wilkinson Boulevard and Harlee Avenue around 6 a.m., bringing down traffic lights and power lines. The scene was just south of the airport.

As of 8 a.m., the inbound lanes on Wilkinson Blvd. at Harlee Ave. was closed and one outbound lane was down.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation said the closure is expected to last until 6 p.m.

None was injured in the crash, according to MEDIC.
