MATTHEWS, N.C. — A fire broke out early Thursday night at the Holiday Inn Express in Matthews on Independence Boulevard, according to town officials.
The fire was contained to one room on the second floor.
The hotel was evacuated and the fire was extinguished.
No injuries were reported and fire investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
