CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Crews responded to a fatal two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon on the off-ramp of Albemarle Road coming from the inner-loop of Interstate 485 in east Charlotte, police said.
A Jeep Wrangler was attempting to make a left turn from Albemarle Road onto I-485 when it pulled in front of a Hyundai Elantra.
The driver of the Hyundai, Thomas Edward Emmett, died in the collision.
The driver of the Jeep, Jackie Sue Spaide, was not injured.
Spaide was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, driving while license revoked and failure to yield right of way.
