CHARLOTTE — The public is still waiting for answers about why CMS Superintendent Crystal Hill was suspended and later reinstated.
Hill said Tuesday that she would share more information about the situation at a later date, but she did not say when.
The lack of information mirrors last year’s controversial settlement involving Charlotte City Council and former CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings.

Both situations involved closed-session discussions and personnel matters, limiting what officials can publicly disclose.
However, state law does not prevent an employee from discussing their own personnel file. Jennings eventually released the terms of his settlement following public pressure.
Hill could similarly choose to explain what she was investigated for, what the investigation found, and whether the school board made any demands or placed pressure on her.
Until then, questions remain about what led to her suspension and why she was reinstated. Channel 9 will continue pressing for answers.
