Police said 80-year-old Mary Melton Laney died in the crash. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.
An initial investigation has revealed that Laney may have suffered a medical emergency while operating her vehicle, crossed over the center line and struck the other vehicle involved.
Police said alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors involved in this accident.
