ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Drivers along the Blue Ridge Parkway should expect delays later this summer as crews begin removing hazardous tree debris left behind by Hurricane Helene.

The National Park Service said teams will clear nearly 3,000 acres across North Carolina and Virginia.
The work is scheduled to start late this summer and continue through next spring, according to WLOS.
Officials said the project is essential to reducing wildfire risk along the parkway.
