Defense company to invest $95M in Iredell County campus, add 423 jobs

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Corvid Technologies will invest $95 million to expand its campus in Mooresville and add 423 jobs in Iredell County, Gov. Josh Stein announced on Tuesday.

The project includes constructing an additional 400,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at the defense contractor’s headquarters to handle engineering and manufacturing of vehicle launch systems.

Founded in 2004 as a modeling and simulation firm, the employee-owned business specializes in digital engineering, simulation modeling and precision manufacturing.

Gov. Stein praised the investment in Iredell County.

“Corvid’s homegrown success and growth speak to the advantages of doing business in North Carolina,” Stein said. “This major expansion affirms the company’s confidence in our talented manufacturing and engineering workforce, business climate and stable economy.”

The company is hiring for multiple roles, including assemblers, electricians, engineers, production managers, technicians and testers. Roles will carry an average annual salary of $81,550, exceeding the Iredell County average wage of $64,895.

The new roles are expected to create a potential annual payroll impact of nearly $34.5 million for the region. Corvid Technologies utilizes physics concepts to offer product services spanning design, development, testing, manufacturing and production.
