CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Department of Justice says it reached a settlement with the University of North Carolina, closing 18 civil rights investigations into the university.
The Justice Department says this will end antisemitism and discrimination university wide.
UNC did not admit wrongdoing or liability.
It will hire a Title VI coordinator and adopt a color-blind admission system among other steps.
Complying ensures that UNC can still compete for federal grants, contracts and funding for research.
