Deputies arrest man accused of killing 65-year-old in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies have arrested a man who is facing charges for the death of a 65-year-old man in Lincoln County.

Authorities were called to a home at around 6:20 a.m. Sunday on Howard’s Creek Mill Road.

Once they got to the scene, they found Ronald Ewing in the driveway, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not said how he died or what led up to his death.

Deputies said 33-year-old Johnny Ray Cook has been charged with second-degree murder.

He was booked into the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond.
