Woman found shot to death in west Charlotte; no arrests made

CHARLOTTE — Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was shot to death Wednesday morning in west Charlotte.

Officers were called around 3:30 a.m. to Elmin Street, near Old Steele Creek Road and West Boulevard, where they found a woman in a car who had been shot.

MEDIC pronounced her dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

No arrests have been made and police have not released any other details about the crime.

Channel 9 crews could see crime scene investigators collecting evidence and the road was roped off with crime scene tape.
